I try to eat healthy but every now and then (okay, more often than I’d like to admit), I do crave decadent, juicy burger. Seriously, I could be a vegetarian if it wasn’t for beef. Capital Grille is our go-to restaurant for family occasions and I never pass up their Oscar-style filet. So it never occurred to me to order a burger there until I heard about their Wagyu and Wine event. Wagyu is a breed of cattle in Japan (‘Wa’ means Japanese and ‘gyu’ means cow.) known for its elegant flavor and juicy texture. It’s also a great opportunity to try three Napa Valley wines that are rarely sold by the glass. The promo is only available through November 17 so put it on your calendar. Grab a seat at the bar and enjoy a gourmet burger, perfectly paired with wine for only $25.
Wagyu & Wine offers three coveted wines paired with gourmet burgers:
- Wagyu Burger with Capital Grille Steak Sauce, Grilled Onions and Vermont White Cheddar, best paired with Beringer, Knights Valley Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon
- Wagyu Mushroom Burger with Soy Braised Shitake, Jarlsberg Cheese and Truffle Aioli best paired with Beaulieu Vineyards, Carneros, Pinot Noir
- Wagyu Cheeseburger with Fried Egg and Havarti Cheese best paired with paired with Stags’ Leap ”The Investor,“ Napa Valley, Bordeaux Blend
“These wines represent a piece of Napa Valley winemaking history and are among the most coveted in the world” said Brian Phillips, The Capital Grille’s Advanced Sommelier. “Each of our featured wagyu burgers were created specifically to complement the flavor profile of these renowned labels, offering our guests the ultimate pairing experience.”
