Being a former Italy expat, I feel drawn to go back and visit often. And fill my belly with authentic Italian food. And wine. Since I returned to the states, airfares have fluctuated dramatically and I’m always hankering for an affordable getaway. So I’m always on the lookout for cheap airfare!
Norwegian Air Offers Cheap Seats to Rome
Norwegian Air just announced that it will begin flying nonstop to Rome’s Fiumicino Airport from the U.S. later this year with ridiculously low fares. Fares from the East Coast – Newark – will start at just $189 one-way. Fares from LA – my hometown – start at $229 one-way. The schedule will vary but for these prices, you can’t go wrong! Premium cabin fares are also very affordable starting at just $539/one-way from Newark and $719 one-way from LA. If you’re looking for Italy trip planning tools, be sure to check out my prior post.
I’m so excited to see all of these low-fare airlines getting into the international destination market.
Earn Free Miles on Southwest
As a woman who likes to change her mind, I often opt to fly Southwest Airlines if my schedule permits. Their no-charge for changes policy has saved me more than once! For a limited time, when you sign up for the Southwest Rapid Rewards Card, you’ll earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $2,000 on purchases in the first three months.
Because I have kids that travel often, and change their minds like I do, this is a great opportunity to build up an account for companion passes.
WOW’s Bottom-Out Fares to Europe
I’m a sucker for low-fare airlines because I often go places I wouldn’t normally spring for. And I’m a master at cramming everything into a carry-on to avoid extra baggage fees. WOW Air has been touting their cheap fares to Iceland for some time and now they’re offering $55 one-way fares from several US cities to Europe. But you have to book by the end of June, and fares are selling out fast, so don’t wait!Fly_Norwegian
